INFOCUS OCT2007 (press release)

INFOCUS/ PRESS RELEASE /OCTOBER 2007.

Infocus release new material and announce brand new gig dates

Infocus, a four piece indie band from Welwyn garden city, have just returned from playing in Germany for the second time. With new material released, the band announces a series of new gigs in and around the London area that promises fans won’t be let down. They are to play the Camden barfly on 5th October, the Hertford Marquee on the 10th and the Doctor’s Tonic in Welwyn Garden City on the 19th.

The Welwyn garden lads took German audiences by storm when they were invited back to Germany to play as part of the Rieperbahn Festival on September 27th-29th.

They are set to make another appearance in Germany next year after finalising talks with their management team. “We now have a good following in Germany, so we want to go back out there as soon as we can!” Rory Ford, the drummer of the band, explained; “In Germany especially, they love British music and go mad for it. From start to finish the crowd dance and jump around.”

Infocus have supported higher profile bands including, The On Offs, The Holloways, Razorlight, The Pigeon Detectives, Babyshambles and The Towers of London. So it becomes clear that the Infocus boys really know how to entertain a room of indie-rockers!
“It gives us great exposure for us to play with well known bands. It gets out name out there and helps our fan base grow. It’s also a great chance for us to speak to the bands directly too!”

With plenty of experience under their belts and a good set of contacts, Infocus are sure to make an impression on the mainstream British music scene at some point in the future seems as they are already signed on an indie label.

In the past, the group have sold out venues such as the 100 club and the Marquee; they also played in Hamburg as part of British Music Week . Recently they have also recorded songs for a short film titled ‘a very British getaway’, previewed at last year’s Leeds Film Festival.

It seems like German audiences have really warmed to the sound of Infocus, but fans need not worry, infocus aren’t jetting off in a hurry! For the next few months they are gigging in and around London.
